WORSHIP WHEN IT DOESN’T
ALWAYS MAKE SENSE

“Therefore, I urge you…in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.”
Romans 12:1 (NIV)

See Genesis 22:1-18

"Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will point out to you.” Genesis 22:2 (NLT)

“He said to his servants, ‘Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.’”
Genesis 22:5 (NIV)

QUIET YOURSELF & LISTEN

“Be quiet and know that I am God …”
Psalm 46:10 (NCV)

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth.” John 16:13 (NIV)

“Some years later God decided to test Abraham, so He spoke to him. Abraham answered, "Here I am, Lord.” Genesis 22:1

NEGLECT WHAT’S NATURAL OBEY WHAT’S BIBICAL & PRORITIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF GOD

“On the third day of the journey, Abraham saw the place in the distance.” Genesis 22:4 (NLT)

“He who does not love Me will not obey My teaching. These words you hear are not My own; they belong to the Father who sent Me.” John 14:24 (NIV)

"This is what the Lord says: Because you have obeyed Me and have not withheld even your beloved son, I swear by My own self that I will bless you richly.” Genesis 22:16-17(NLT)

MARVEL & REJOICE

“Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be destroyed, let us be thankful and please God by worshipping Him with holy fear and awe.” Hebrews 12:28 (NLT)

“At that moment the angel of the Lord shouted to him from heaven…’Lay down the knife. Do not hurt the boy in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld even your beloved son from Me.’” Genesis 22:1-18 (NLT)

Worship is…

Currently, my “Isaac” is…

What I need to lay at the altar is…
